2012 Chico Heritage Preservation Awards
1. Best Continuing Restoration: The Earl House, 238 Hazel St., owned by Ray Murdoch.
2. Best Adaptive Re-use: The Hudson Dealership Building, 1114 W. First. St., owned by Wayne Cook.
3. Historic Structure Rescue, Restored Gas Station: On the Volkswagen lot, 200 block of Ninth Street, owned by Mark Abouzeid.
4. Best Sensitive Addition: 794 E. Sixth St., owned by Mike & Kathleen Gabriel.
5. Best Vernacular Recovery: 377 E. Sixth St., owned by Phil Johnson.
6. A special award is being given to Nancy and Richard Ostrom as the first property owners to add their house to the Chico Historic Resources Inventory under the city’s Historic Preservation Ordinance.
